Letting Go

A new old painting.An oil painting that has been sitting in my studio for about a year now which I never finished. A friend suggested I put a coat of varnish on it and crop the areas that were not finished and be done with it. So I did and it seemed to have worked.

I have received my hardcover copy with the dust jacket and it looks fantastic!

I chose the hard cover only because I feel it is sturdier and I like having the dust jacket but soft and hardcover copies have the same premier quality paper. I write a bit about my process in the beginning of the book. On some of the paintings I write about the colors I used, techniques and/or the story behind the painting.

It has been a very busy winter with a number of commissions. Some things I haven't painted in a very long time and some things I have never painted!

Orlando is based on the character in Virginia Wolf's book of the same, Orlando.MoMo is my long gone and never to be forgotten tuxedo cat. He was such a rascal!

Artemis was a greek goddess and one of her jobs was to be a protector of prey animals. She was so angry at Greek sailors who killed a hare and her babies, that she delayed them from going to the battle at Troy. Otis is my very good friends rabbit. So I dedicate this to you Otie!
