What I like about your paintings is that they are never fussy or busy, yet in their simplicity they are elegant and evocative. I'm sure you do a great deal of editing.
Silvina, Thanks so much for that insightful comment. These pieces I posted and will continue to post are for a show I will be doing.I think my love of Asian art, which is so simplistic , has had an influence on my work.
When I was starting out as an artist I use to put much more in my work and for me I think it was easier to paint that way. There were lots of nooks to put brushy strokes in which makes the work really interesting. I started to feel it was just the technique and not the subject that was impressive. It really was not me either so I started scaling back and focusing on my subject and minimal composition more. One thing about painting this way is your composition really needs to be dead on.
This is how I like to work but I really do love artists who can load up their paintings and do it well!
really like big boy great colour very degas green. great brushwork for me as a student very inspiring. by the way how much are you asking pauland monsteratmsndotcom

all of your dog paintings are fantastic.
Thanks so much Stephen but I think it is hard to make a bad dog painting when they are such wonderful creatures!

HI Paul,
This piece is at my dealers in NJ, Hrefna Jonsdottir Gallery, and I believe it is $3000- $3400, I am not sure. Thanks for asking!
