Oscar and Chelsea-SOLD

Here is another little guy, Oscar and the very beautiful Chelsea. I am sure you know which one is Chelsea!

I am in a goat phase right now and believe it or not there are a lot of goats out here in this part of Jersey.
I have always been pretty much a figurative painter but I am really enjoying painting these animals.

Stay tune for the zebra phase in about a week or two!

Your work is AWESOME and inspiring. Lovely brushwork and magical subdued palette.-- SO NEAT how you work those violets and limes... Love the lady walking goat and this new goat is delightful as well. Glad I found your blog, looking forward to seeing more soon.

I agree, Chelsea is very beautiful... but this goat! Fabulous goat!

There are zebras in Jersey? Can't wait to see what you paint.

These are amazing, Sandra! You have a way with animals and it's nice to see a close up of one of your ladies. I love the looseness and brushwork in Chelsea.

Thanks Dani.
The "Chelsea" piece is a quick small study (about an hour) which is somewhat brushier then some of my other portraits.
My brushwork will also depend on what mood I am in that day or what effect I want to project.!

Thanks KJ!

Never could stand dog paintings and you tripped me up there...was never a goat fancier, and now this. Wow, I continue to be blown away! Meet you at the zebra crossing.

You make it look so easy! All your work is so relaxed and so visually beautiful....from subject and composition to colour and those delightful brush strokes.

I'm so taken by your unusual use of color, that in your hands appears pensive and thoughtful and not at all maudlin.
I've admired your work for some time- your palette, your brushwork and the loose and lovely style that is so unique and inspiring.

Oh how to loosen up and be taken by the gesture of a brush stroke- it looks so liberating.

love the strong choppy planes on the face. Goat is great too. Like it's skuffed edges.

Both are wonderful paintings. Love the highlight on Chelsea's eye and the goat speaks for it's self! Great work, I am so happy I found your blog!

Love the bold planes of color. Have you ever seen Sargent's "Gondolas"?

I love the strokes, the way you play with light setting the mood for each painting.
If I had a wish, I would visit New Jersey and would ask you to teach me.

Weird. I just got the same anonymous comment on one of my old posts. Wonder what the spammer's up to with this kind of comment.
