Well It's Been A While

The election is over and I can "get a life" again! I get myself too wrapped up in politics, especially when it comes to choosing  the president . Here are a few pieces  I've managed to complete.
They are from top to bottom:

-Tango at Twelve   17x17   o/l -SOLD
This piece will be at Wally Workman Gallery  in Austin Texas, for the December  show "Twelve"

-Two    11x14  o/l-SOLD
A  study from the dancing series I have been sort of working on. I have a hard time with series. I tend to get bored quickly!

-Maggie's Boys- SOLD  24x36  o/l
Another from my red headed Maggie series. She is hanging out with a friend's goat, Whitey and Arthur the Westie.

What can I say...your work is always terrific! Glad I checked out your blog tonight, stranger. The economy stinks and is scaaarry, but thank god we have the inauguration to look forward to!

Forgot to ask...is showing 12 midnight or noon on the tango club wall clock? Nothing whatsoever to do with painting but thought I would ask anyway.

It may have been a while but you certainly made it worth our while.
I check from time to time having flipped for your previous works. Your colors are so rich and exotic and as well your subjects are compelling.

I've admired the simple treatment of your backgrounds and the suggestive brush work.
These are fantastic.

And yes, three paintings and three cheers for this inauguration.

Hi Sandra,

These are amazing. You've inspired me. I too got caught up in the election, and I'm not even American.

Superb work.

Thanks Dani! Wally should have a few pieces in her gallery in a week or so. I will be doing a solo show with her in 2009 so check it out!

Thanks Bonnie and how lucky are you living in St. Croix! Your life looks reeeeeally good!

Barbara thanks! My husband is from Toronto too and this is the first presidential election that even he was so wrapped up in. He generally finds our long, drawn out election process tedious and I have to agree.
Sure glad it's over now!

Sandra . . I don't know that I can add much . . .but don't allow your boredom to create a problem. This series on dance is absolutely captivating and full of emotion. Hats off to you for really putting that emotion out there for the viewer. Stay in this series!! it says sooo very much! And . . .thanks for putting these on a blog for the rest of us amateurs to see and wish over!

Sandra, so glad to see you're posting again! These tango paintings are fab! I grew up dancing the tango with my brother, as kids do in Argentina. We thought we knew how.

I apologize but, I'm tagging you. please check my blog.

Diane Hoeptner said...

Yeah, I already commented on these paintings which are MAGICAL! I'm just stopping in to break the news: You've been tagged (again apparently! Silvina beat me to it!) (: Check my blog for more information.

Sandra, I'm so glad that Silvina tagged you so that I got a reason to stop by.

Love the smoldering emotions in the subject matter, and the striking compositions.

Hi Sandra,
I saw your paintings at Wally's the other day and I thought they were outstanding, I love the way you use color.

Karen Appleton said...

I am IN LOVE with your paintings! I discovered you through Silvina's tag. I keep coming back and back and back. I can not wait to see more!

Thanks Robin! I have about 70 different tubes of colors but only use 3 or 4 plus white and black when I do a painting.
