Son oil on linen 8x8
This mother and son were out on a cold NYC day. Of course you wouldn't know they were in NY because I decided to not place them in Manhattan. I was more interested in them, as oppose to the city. There was something isolated about the two even though they were together. I thought they would work well out on what looks like an icy lake in Minnesota.

Wow, there is some serious emotional power conveyed here.
I absolutely see these two in NYC, seems like it would be part of the story written on their faces, especially hers. For whatever reason, she has had a haaard time of it in life and I get the feeling this male figure isn't helping much in that regard. Wonderful work as always! (really looking forward to your Wally Workman show in December)
Most intriguing.
Yes Camille, he wasn't very helpful!
Thanks Tina!
Sandra - fabulous studies, especially the mother. Your figures have so much presence.
I find these paintings very interesting, and they work well together.
Great work as always...I'm certain her name is Miriam for some reason
You really captured the personality of the mother. Someone who would be hard to hug and sit and have milk and cookies with...maybe a shot of whiskey!
Thanks everyone! I am pretty busy painting away for a show so I am not getting to respond to all your wonderful comments like I should!
Thanks again for stopping by!
Greetings! I like his pictorial work and have published in my Blog, http://gerardogarciarte.blogspot.com/
Pure emotion- captivated on the bulls eye.
Your work always makes me let out a little gasp.
Background would have been beside the point. These two people are their own geography.
These paintings are alive with soul!
